Wales Air Ambulance

Real life story By Mark Wood…June 2008

As some of you may know, the Welsh Air Ambulance helped save my life after a rather dramatic surfing accident in January of this year.

I am a regular surfer to the north wales coast line and in Jan 08 I had a serious accident at whistling sands. My fin on my longboard severed the inside of my thigh and I lost 3 and a half pints of blood. If it wasn’t for the Air Ambulance I would have died on the beach.

If it wasn’t for their services, I wouldn’t be here today! which is why I would appreciate any support you can give for the Charity Walk I am organising, as detailed below:

The event is on Saturday August 16th, setting off around 9am from LLanbris.
I am aiming to organise around 100 sponsored walkers to climb Snowdon and then do a balloon release from the top. The walk is around 6 Miles in total and will take around 5 hours to complete.

Following the walk, a garden party is being held at the Ramada Hotel in Chester. There will be a BBQ and hog roast, followed by a charity auction and live band/disco till late.
The tickets for this event cost £20 with all proceeds going to the Wales Air Ambulance. These tickets are limited so book early to secure your place.

If you know of anyone who may also be interested, please invite them along too!

If you are interested and would like a sponsorship form then please contact me as soon as possible -

My contact details are mark@bforb.co.uk or 0786 334 7000.

Alternatively, a donation can be made online at http://www.justgiving.com/marksairambulancewalk

If you could let me know if you are interested in attending the walk or evening event, I would really appreciate it.

Many Thanks

Mark Wood
